Brandon Burton (Podcast Host at ChamberChat Podcast)

Brandon Burton

Podcast Host at ChamberChat Podcast

Brandon Burton is the founder and host of the Chamber Chat Podcast, which he started in 2019 with the goal of helping Chambers of Commerce better serve their members and their community by sharing best practices, tips, strategies, and lessons learned from other Chamber professionals. He now has a back catalog of over 160 podcast episodes!

Brandon’s background in the Chamber world started in 2006 after graduating college as he took a sales job with Community Matters, Inc., a Texas-based Chamber publisher of directories, magazines, and maps. This job quickly became a career as he fell in love with the work that Chambers does, especially around supporting local businesses and advancing their communities. He believes that a local Chamber of Commerce is quite possibly the most powerful small business resource within any community. In addition to hosting Chamber Chat Podcast, he is also the sales manager for Community Matters, Inc. and he has an obsession with the future of Chambers and how they remain relevant going forward.

Brandon lives in the Dallas, TX area with his wife and 4 children.

Board Strategic Innovation Advisor at Innovate Lynchburg

I developed a love of helping connecting and helping people through the influence of my parents and some amazing teachers that saw computer science as the future. When he was introduced to an Apple II+ and plotted my first square, I was hooked. I saw the computer as a tool full of possibilities and a way to make a difference in the lives of others.

Throughout my career, I have lived by a simple idea that I could achieve anything in life as long as he was helping others get what they want first.

Digital Marketing Consultations & Services for Chambers at Izzy West LLC

Izzy West is a past chamber staffer who recently started her own agency specifically helping chambers of commerce with digital marketing. In her seven years at the Little River Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Center, she found a large gap between digital marketing and chambers of commerce. She knows chambers are non-profits with limited resources and so many pressing responsibilities that it can be hard to set aside time to promote yourself – especially if you don’t know where to start.

But she is adamant about the importance of digital marketing for chambers of commerce. Chambers need to build brand awareness so they can stop chasing money, and instead attract sponsors and funders so they can focus on their community impact. If you grow your chamber, you can grow your impact.
