Nicanor Sabula is the Managing Director of Africa’s first and only Association management company, the African Association Management Company (AFAMCO).

After more than 15years of leading several national and regional membership associations in Africa, Nicanor joined AFAMCO in January 2020 to pursue his long-term dream of growing and professionalizing Associations in Africa. AFAMCO has helped establish new associations, advised on expansion into the African continent and provided a range of management services to existing African associations.

Nicanor is the immediate former CEO of the Kenya Association of Travel Agents (KATA) where he is credited for having transformed the Association into one of the most influential trade association in the travel industry in Africa.

Previously he held CEO positions at the East Africa Association of Grantmakers (EAAG) and the Association of Professional Societies in East Africa (APSEA). He began his Association management career at the International Council of African Museums (AFRICOM) while working at the National Museums of Kenya.

He holds a Master of Arts (MA) Degree from the University of Nairobi and a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) from Egerton University. Nicanor is an accomplished Association manager with almost 15 years’ experience managing projects, programs and administration functions in international not-for-profit organizations.

Mr. Sabula has held and continues to hold voluntary leadership positions in a number of non-governmental organizations across East Africa.

Wambui Mbarire is the current Chief Executive Officer of Kenya Retail Traders Association, an accomplished administrator with over eighteen years’ all round experience earned progressively through various engagements and stations of work. Wambui is a holder of a Bachelor of Education Degree, from Kenyatta University, CPA Strathmore University.

She has worked in personnel and human capital management, finance, administration field and operations management.

Ms. Mbarire has been with the association since it’s formation and has helped build it up to be The Voice of retailers, sort by both Government and Private Sector for dialogue and various partnerships. She passionately champions best practises in the retail sector.

Mr. Clifford Ochieng is the Founder and current Chairperson of the Association of Kenya Professional Insurance Agents - AKPIA, an institution that was born with a mission to champion and lobby for interest of the public sector and Members whom the association represent. This was made from successful meeting and the need for representation at the policy level by the like-minded individuals who envisaged change in the insurance sector and saw the Association as a catalyst to drive that change.

Clifford has a total of 13 years of insurance serving at different capacities in a cross section of the giant insurance firms in Kenya.

AKPIA has demonstrated value and professionalism while serving and delivering on the interest to the esteemed stakeholders over the years since its formation. As such we have seen our Membership escalating from a mere 200 in 2017 to 1400 in 2020. Achieving this milestone has not been a walk in the park, and we do recognize the efforts of our partners- The Insurance firms, regulatory bodies in Kenya and beyond, and the agents themselves. It is in the same spirit that we shall hosting a first ever 2 day AKPIA Members convention and conference in November 2020.

Zuhura Ogada-Odhiambo is a leading expert in Business Management, Organization Development, a Communication and Media Expert and has got over 15 years experience in Marketing. For the past two decades she has had extensive experience in the field of communication, marketing strategy,events and brand management. She has been instrumental in exploring the convergence between marketing strategies and the use of data for organizational transformation. Her desire is to see businesses develop winning strategies, generate multiple income streams and nurture strong brands. Over the years she has enabled companies to turnaround in East Africa through enhanced consumer experience and increase of revenue for sustainability.

She is a co-founder and Director of Cocoa by Design an events- management firm with activities in Kenya, Uganda & Tanzania.

She is also the current CEO of New Revenue Solutions Africa a prolific revenue generating company which enables organizations accelerate profitable revenue through the use of data, strategy and commercial development. Her experience in media sector spans over 10 years at the Nation Media Group and Capital Group and CNBC as a Commercial Director.

Some of the key achievements in her career history includes:
(i) Couching and Mentoring startups to develop award winning business cases and plans during incubation with ibiz Africa a Standard Chartered Bank Initiative
(ii) A leader in the formation of the first Female Governor’s Network in Kenya that will enable better County service delivery in the 5 year time frame.
(iii) Instrumental in introducing various revenue activities which generated high revenue using data
(iv) Initiated partnerships and was involved in having the first Indian Film Festival Kenya from the Indian Film Festival Worldwide being the first in Africa in August 2019 and have been also involved other Women Forums in Kenya.

Her desire to ensure that Affirmative Action is embedded in organization’s polices has seen her develop frameworks for gender diversity in the workplace and has undertaken the Women Directors Leadership Summit at the Strathmore Business School (SBS). She is also an alumni of Female Future Force programme from FKE (FFP), Senior Management Leadership Program & Developing Leadership Competencies from SBS.

Her leadership skills have made her serve in several Boards namely; Chairperson of Events Managers Association of Kenya (EMAK) Board,Vice Chair of 30% Club E.A that advocates for gender diversity inboards, and has also served on the GorMahia Sacco which empowers members socio- economically.

She holds a Masters in Business Administration (Marketing) from Kenya Methodist University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Limkokwing University, Malaysia. She is also a member of Women Corporate Directors (WCD), MSK (Marketing Society of Kenya), PRSK and CIM (Chartered Institute of Marketing).
