Currently as CEO of India Exposition Mart Ltd, since May 2011 which is the largest integrated exhibition and convention centre in India that has hosted several international events and awarded as the Best Standalone Convention Centre by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. Having handled various assignments across the tenure of his career that have involved major aspects of event and conference management, he has grown into becoming a MICE Specialist. With a keen eye towards understanding MICE market and growth trends, assessing the competitive landscape, and creating events of a massive scale that have been experienced and appreciated by leaders and clients across the globe.

He has proven contributions towards successfully organizing major events for major clients from diverse industry verticals in India, which received massive footfalls and an excellent response from the event attendees. He has proven success in bidding and winning major events collaboratively along with Government of India at an international level.

He also represents Indian Exhibition Industry Association (IEIA) as the Vice President and Member, Governing Board, India Convention Promotion Bureau (ICPB), Ministry of Tourism, GOI.

Working with the PHD Chamber since 2012, he has been working on Policy Advocacy with various Ministries of Government of India across Geographies and Sectors like Health (Pharma, Medical Devices & Health Delivery), Manufacturing, IT, Electronics, Textiles and Best Business Practices for Excellence. He has also been working closely with World Bank and bodies like WHO on issues of importance for the socio-economic growth of the country.

While with the Corporates, he has hands-on experience of creating an SBU from a greenfield stage to US $ 200 million. Creating blue prints and their field implementation through tactical initiatives & long term strategies for business sustainability, is what he has delivered.
Equipped with a professional training on Strategic Market Planning from J.L.Kellogg School of Management (USA) & MDI, Gurgaon (1993) and Economics Hons from Delhi University (1985) he worked with the corporates across sectors like white goods to fashion industry to IT (hardware, software & services- for over three decades before joining the Chamber of Commerce.

Roy, an entrepreneur of the arts, is the Managing Director of Teamwork Arts, which produces over 25 highly acclaimed performing arts, visual arts and literary festivals across 40 cities in countries such as Australia, Canada, Egypt, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, UK and USA, including the world’s largest free literary gathering — the annual ZEE Jaipur Literature Festival. Roy has received the National Award for Excellence and Best Director for the film Shahjahanabad: The Twilight Years. He is a founder trustee of Salaam Baalak Trust (SBT) working to provide support services for street and working children in the inner city of Delhi where over 55,000 children have benefited from education, training and residential services. In 2011, the White House presented SBT the US President’s Committee of Arts and Humanities Award for an International Organisation. Roy works closely with various industry bodies on important policy issues within the cultural space in India and is a senior office bearer on several committees working on policy infrastructure for the creative industries - he is Co-chair of the Art and Culture Committee of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and recent Former President of Event and Entertainment Management Association (EEMA).
